BuzzFeed, Digitas and 72andSunny shortlisted for the Digiday Worklife Awards
BuzzFeed, Digitas and 72andSunny have each been shortlisted in the Digiday Worklife Awards, our annual recognition of media and marketing’s top employers and the values and cultural initiative that make them unique.
BuzzFeed is up for Most Innovative Culture. The publisher has successfully implemented a number of initiatives recently dedicated to openness, collaboration, experimentation and growth. These initiatives are overseen by company-funded Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) across their New York and Los Angeles offices. With BuzzFeed’s ERGs split up into focuses like Black Identity and Opportunity, LGBTQ+ Opportunity, Asian American life and more, they’re able to foster a diverse, inclusive workplace that’s aligned with their organizational mission, values, business practices, and objectives.
Digitas received three nominations including one for Most Committed to Diversity and Inclusion. For the last decade, Digitas has been the largest single-agency supporter of the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A’s) Multicultural Advertising Internship Program (MAIP), welcoming an average of 15 MAIP fellows to their summer internship program annually. Their senior leadership team is made up of 40% women and 18% of VP-level talent identify as racially or ethnically diverse. These highlights and other distinctions have led the agency to top nods for Best Employee Empowerment Initiative, Top Boss and Most Committed to Diversity and Inclusion.
72andSunny received two nominations and are up for Most Committed to Diversity and Inclusion as well as Most Committed to the Community/Social Good. They’ve offered up their space to groups like Black Lives Matter and Times Up Advertising for community events. They’re also in ongoing collaboration with the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development for “L.A. Original,” a program made to showcase diverse makers and promote locally designed, assembled, or manufactured goods (with proceeds supporting creative entrepreneur programs across Los Angeles).
View the full list of finalists below. We’ll announce the winners on Facebook Live on Oct. 16 at 2:30 p.m. EST. Go to Digiday’s Facebook page here to see the winners.
